• Who are you? JOLIVETTE ANDERSON-DOUONING aka Jolivette ‘the poet warrior’

• What do you do? I teach History at St. Michael’s College, I research Race, Place, and Space in the Deep South USA focusing on African American lived experiences in segregated neighborhoods. I am a Theater Artist and I am a Performance Poetry/Spoken Word Artist.

• Why are you excited to be a part of BX? I am excited to be a part of BX because I love teaching, reading, thinking, performing, and building community focused on the Black experience in the USA and the African Diaspora.
